Monaca Man Charged In Ellwood City Thefts

According to police reports, Shawn Patrick Glenn, 22, of Monaca, PA has been charged with theft, theft from vehicles, loitering and prowling, possession of instruments of crime, fleeing police and resisting arrest after an incident last week in Ellwood City’s North Side.

Ellwood City police received a call overnight on Friday, August 17 at approximately 2:00 am regarding a male dressed in camouflage breaking into vehicles in the area of Hazel Avenue.  The suspect was originally being pursued by two men who said they saw him in the bed of a pickup truck one of them owned.

As police took up the chase and approached the suspect continued to flee the area and later was located at Barry’s Ice Cream where he was taken into custody after the foot pursuit. The suspect in custody did have numerous stolen items on him.  After a search police found wire cutters, a school police badge, binoculars, tech analyzer, fishing supplies, pens, sunglasses, headphones, iPhone charges, knives, batteries and numerous clothing items.

Police report Glenn did confess to breaking into numerous vehicles that night between the 100 and 600 block of Hazel Avenue.  Glenn was arraigned and ordered held in Lawrence County jail on $35,000 bond.

Ellwood City police advise if you notice your vehicle has been broken into since this incident and you do have property missing please contact the police department so you can identify your stolen property.
