David L. Servick, 63, of Squaw Run Road, Wayne Township, Ellwood City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born in Ellwood City on June 20, 1952 to the late Stanley Servick and the late Bernice Janis Servick. Dave attended Lincoln High School and worked for Penn State Special Metals in Koppel. He married his wife of 38 years, Doris Mae VanGorder Servick, on Aug. 12, 1977. She survives. He enjoyed hunting in the mountains, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, most especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Doris, Dave is survived by his daughter, Dawnette (and Mike) D’Biagio of North Sewickley, as well as three stepsons: Robert (and Dennis) VanHorn and Rodney (and Maria) VanHorn, all of Philadelphia, and Randy (and Renee) VanHorn of Ellwood City. Five grandchildren also survive: Mayley and Ashlyn D’Biagio, Mark, and Olivia and Nadia VanHorn, as well as one sister and two brothers: Dorothy Mateja and Bob (and Georgia) Servick, all of Ellwood City, and Bill (and Statia) Servick of Ft. Myers, Fla.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 in the Tuner Funeral Home of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue. Friends may also call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 A.M. on Monday, November 9, 2015 at TURNER’S with Mr. Thomas O’Brien, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Wayne Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in David’s name, to the National Wildlife Federation.
