Activities at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Monday, July 17, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information. This program has been moved to Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. through August 9 because of Summer Reading Program activities. Monday, July 17, at 1:30 p.m. – Afternoon Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “The Longest Night,” by Andria Williams. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.
Tuesday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. – Performance by young people participating in the Puppet Theater Workshop this summer. This event is open to family members, friends and patrons of the library and will feature original plays which are performed using puppets and marionettes. Call the library for more information.
Wednesday, July 19, at 12:00 Noon – Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques. Call the library for more information.
Wednesday, July 19, at 2:00 p.m. – The Library Anniversary Committee will meet to discuss the upcoming “Art on the Avenue” celebration scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 28, at the library. At least 28 area artists and their work will be featured at the event. Tickets, which include food and drink, are available in advance or at the door at a cost of $10 each.
Thursday, July 20, at 12:00 Noon – “Just 4 Girls,” a book discussion group for girls in 9th grade and up. The group will discuss the book, “Keeping the Moon,” by Sarah Dessen. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, July 20, at 6:00 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group, whose members meet weekly to work on individual projects. New members are always welcome. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, July 20, at 6:30 p.m. — “Fairy Tale Theater,” designed for preschoolers and early elementary-aged children. The evening features fractured fairy tale plays performed by teenagers at the stage area in the children’s department. No registration is required. Call the library for more information.
“Movie Night for Adults” will take place on Wednesday, July 26, this month beginning at 6:00 p.m. Call the library for more information.
