Ronald R. Stelter, 83, of West Pittsburg passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a brief illness.
Born December 16, 1933 in Shenango Twp, he was the son of the late Fred D. and Virginia Bowden Stelter. He was married for 56 years to Rita R. Atkinson Stelter who passed away December 1, 2010.
Ron graduated from Shenango High School. A Veteran of the US Air Force, he served during the Korean War. Ron retired from UPS in 1996 where he was a delivery driver. He was a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church and the Croatian Society in West Pittsburg. He was also a member of the Chewton Polish White Eagles where he played on the pool team and in their golf league. Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda (Terry) Gricks of New Castle; two sons, Steve (Cindy Barber) Stelter of Mt. Jackson, Kenneth Stelter of West Pittsburg; sister, Dolores Cox of Pulaski; brother, Fred (Florence) Stelter of Wampum; four grandchildren, Penny (John) Medve, Kevin Stelter, Brandon (Shawna) Stelter, and Cassandra Stelter; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Stelter.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 8 at the Savannah United Methodist Church at 5:00 pm. His pastor, Rev. Michael E. Long will officiate the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. Online condolences may be sent to marshallsfh.com.
