Mr. Larry DeBlaso, Jr., 63, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Larry was born on September 12, 1953 in Ellwood City to the late Lawrence and Mary Lapenta DeBlaso, Sr.. He is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1972, and the Holy Redeemer Parish. Larry had worked at G.K. Garrett’s for 13 years, Fishers Big Wheel for 10 years, American Asbestos for 10 years, Airway Industries for 10 years, and OSG (Opening Solutions Group) as the Director of Quality Control for several years.
He enjoyed working with computers, and was an avid Star Wars and Harry Potter movie fan. He also cherished the time he spent with his dog Cooper.
Larry is survived by his wife, Cathy M. Powell DeBlaso whom he married on August 20, 1977, his sisters, Cheryl Gallagher of Florida, Diane (Rusty) Atkinson of North Sewickley Twp., and Carol Todd of Ellport, his brothers, David (Debby) DeBlaso of Georgia, Mark DeBlaso of Colorado, Craig (Holly) DeBlaso of Washington, Pa, and Gary (Cindy) DeBlaso of Wayne Twp., his mother-in-law, Dorothy Powell of Ellwood City, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Frank DeBlaso, his brothers-in-law, Don Gallagher and Steve Todd, and his great nephew, Vincent Stanton.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 am in the Holy Redeemer Church. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Monday by 9:20 am. Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Social Services.
