Mr. Andrew Stiles, Jr., 81, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the Ellwood City Hospital.
Mr. Stiles was born on August 19, 1935 in Coalport, Pa to the late Andrew and Vanda Gmerek Stiles, Jr. Andy had served with the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, and was reactivated for 4 months during the Berlin Crisis. He worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill in Beaver Falls from 1955 until his retirement in 1986 as a torch operator. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and golfing.
Mr. Stiles is survived by his wife, Amelia “Millie” Thomas Stiles whom he married on October 15, 1955, his sisters, Lilly Mills of Ellwood City, Betty (Henry) Rafacz of Wampum, and Dorothy Anderson of Ellwood City, his brother-in-law, Casmiere Korowicki of Washington, Pa, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Rella Crofton and Jessie Korowicki, his brothers, Joseph and Leonard Stiles, his sisters-in-law, Mary Ciro and Madeline Suppa, and his brother-in-law, Joseph Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-8 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Zachary Galiyas officiating. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Monday by 10:20 am. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the church on Monday by 11:50 am to conduct full military honors. Interment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mr. Stile’s name may be made to the Vitas Hospice or to the Ellwood City Area Public Library.
