The Wurtemburg Perry Fire Department is preparing for their busiest time of the year.
The firemen starting February 21 and February 22 will have their annual Gun Show. This will be the 42nd annual gun show and has been sponsored, since inception, by the Castlewood Rod and Gun Club. The event is two days with the hours of operation are 9am-4pm on Saturday and 9am – 2 pm on Sunday. We will have over 90 tables operated by 40 dealers. Attendees will be able to buy, sell, and trade firearms along with purchasing accessories for hunting, reloading and fishing. The firemen will also operate a kitchen for the public to purchase food and drink.
Next up is the fish sandwich sales from 5pm – 7pm on March 6 and April 3, 2026. This is the second year for the sandwich sale. For over 50 years the Department was known for their fish dinners but they were discontinued due to the lack of daytime help.
On March 21, 2026 the department will host its 16th annual sporting clay shoot held at the Castlewood Road & Gun Club. It has been a well received, event that many shooters enjoy time with friends and family. They also enjoy good food and prizes to round out the day.
On May 7, 2026, the Department will hold its 13th annual Gun Bash. There are 1,000 presold tickets for this event which includes 20 guns and many additional raffles through out the afternoon. With the purchase of the ticket, you will be provided with Free food and beverages.
We are also having our second annual cash bash on October 10, 2026 from 6pm – 9pm. There will be limited tickets sold and there will be cash prizes all evening with free food included.
Mixed in between all these major fund-raising events we have 4 or 5 Sub Sales. They will feature Subs made in-house by the firemen, plus Hall Rentals for all types of events.
The Fire Department would like to thank the Perry Township Supervisors, Ellport Borough Council, the Fire Department Auxillary, and the community for their continued support. We would like the community to know that we work hard and train hard to provide the best Emergency service possible to Perry Township, Ellport Borough, and the surrounding communities.
If anyone is interested in volunteering stop any Tuesday evening for an application.
