The Ellwood City boys basketball team was defeated 67-52 by Aliquippa at home Friday evening as part of its senior night.
Kaleb Servick scored a game-high 19 points while Aaron Lake delivered a double-double (10 points, 15 reboounds) in defeat. Aliquippa (13-5 Overall, 9-2 Class 3A-1) raced out to an early 19-9 lead and 34-21 lead at halftime. Javarri Carter finished with a team-high 17 points for the Quips.
Ellwood City wraps up its regular season with a record of 12-9 (7-4 Class 3A-1) and will be one of four teams represented from the MAC Conference in the 2026 WPIAL Playoffs.
The Wolverines will return to the Class 3A WPIAL Playoffs with pairing set to be announced on Monday.
Last year Ellwood City collected an opening round victory over South Park before falling to eventual 3A Champion South Allegheny in the quarterfinals.
