Lady Panthers Collect Third Consecutive Victory, Improve To 10-4

The Riverside girls basketball team won for a third consecutive time Monday and improved their regular season record to 10-4 (4-3 Class 3A-1).

On Monday, Riverside dismantled New Brighton 81-3 behind 22 points from Emma Stockman. Silvana Fox and Emma Meyer each chipped in with 10 points in the blowout victory that saw 10 Panthers hit the scoring column. Riverside led 54-1 at halftime.

Stockman posted a double-double (18 points, 12 rebounds) last Thursday as the Lady Panthers knocked off Sto-Rox 49-24. Meyer scored 11 points and handed out six assists in the victory.

One day prior, Meyer knocked home six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points to lead the offensive charge in the Panthers 56-52 victory over Hopewell on Wednesday. Addison Drake scored 13 points while Stockman pulled down 14 rebounds for Riverside.

The Lady Panthers continue their successful play as they have now won five of their last six games since the Christmas holiday.

The Riverside girls basketball team will next host Mohawk (6-8 Overall) on Thursday before turning their focus and traveling to rival Ellwood City next Monday, January 19th.

The Lady Wolverines fell to Quaker Valley 54-30 on Monday to drop to 2-13 on the regular season. Jadyn Allwine scored a team-high nine points for Ellwood City. Mimi Thiero scored a game-high 34 points for the Quakers.

Riverside dropped its contest to Quaker Valley back on December 22nd as Thiero poured in 30 points in the 46-18 Quakers victory.
