On Friday evening, the newest class of ECASD Hall of Fame inductees were honored with a special dinner and recognition during halftime of the boys varsity basketball game against the Freedom Bulldogs.
This class includes six individuals and three athletic teams. Together, they make up the fourth class to be installed into the Hall of Fame.
- Mr. Albert Campman, Distinguished Coach & Teacher
- Dr. John J. DeCaro, Sr., Class of 1949, Distinguished Alumnus
- Ms. Darbi O’Brien, Class of 1998, Distinguished Athlete
- Dr. John V. Petrocelli, Class of 1993, Distinguished Alumnus
- Mr. Robert A. Pietrandrea, Class of 1970, Distinguished Alumnus
- Mr. Bill Spellman, Distinguished Coach & Teacher
- 1925 WPIAL Champion Football team
- 1962 & 1968 WPIAL Champion Baseball teams
In 2022, the Ellwood City Area School District Hall of Fame Committee unveiled the Hall of Fame to celebrate the professional achievements and athletic accomplishments of Lincoln Jr/Sr High School alumni. EllwoodCity.org has previously featured a series spotlighting the Ellwood City Area Hall of Fame leading up to the induction ceremonies.
The Wolverines boys basketball team used a 23-point, 14-rebound double-double effort from Aaron Lake to dismantle the visiting Bulldogs 75-50. Kaleb Servick added 18 points (four assists, four steals) and Tyler Smiley found double digits with a 12 point effort in the victory.
Ellwood City used a decisive 23 point fourth quarter scoring outburst to ran away with the section victory. The win improved the Wolverines record to 4-2 on the regular season and the team will next travel across the mighty Connoqunessing River to face rival Riverside (4-1 Overall) on Tuesday who is coming off its first loss of the regular season at the hands of the Mohawk Warriors.
