Emmy-Nominated TV Show To Film Segment At Friday Night “Let There Be Lights” Celebration

Downtown Ellwood City will be under the lens and captured on camera during Friday evening’s “Let There Be Lights” celebration along Lawrence Avenue as part of the filming of a new segment of HGTV’s “The American Dream”

The Emmy-nominated TV show meant to highlight positive stories of culture, lifestyles and real estate in communities across the country airs on national platforms and will feature local realtor Katelyn Dominelli.

Dominelli was contacted by show producers to film and highlight the municipality and she will be given near creative control over the segment and how to highlight the borough.

“A few weeks ago, I had the chance to meet with the producers of The American Dream after their talent manager reached out to me,” said Dominelli in a social media post. “After several interviews and plenty of bragging about Ellwood City’s small-town charm they officially chose our hometown as the backdrop for an upcoming segment.”

In November she worked through filming location consents and release forms and expressed her excitement to share the vision for how the segment can showcase the lifestyle, people, and heart of Ellwood City.

According to reports, the segment will be posted online on an undetermined January date, and will stream on Amazon’s Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube TV, Tubi and Roku.

“Light Up Night is one of the moments where Ellwood City truly shines. The Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, families, and volunteers pour their hearts into this event” added Dominelli. “Our small town charm and strong sense of connection are exactly what make people want to live here, and this event brings that to life.”

Certain segments of the show air on HGTV and the Travel Channel, though Dominelli has said she is unsure whether Ellwood’s segment will be on cable.

The new lifestyle and real estate show will showcase authentic stories of neighborhoods and featuring top real estate professionals. Each episode spotlights realtors chosen for their expertise, reputation, and recognition from both peers and clients.

Help put Ellwood’s best foot forward by bringing your holiday spirit to downtown Ellwood City Friday Night.  Festivities will be held on Lawrence Avenue between 4th and 6th streets and will kick off at 6PM.
