Senior/Sophomore Team Wins Ellwood City Powerpuff Bowl 38-6

The Senior/Sophomore team defeated the Junior/Freshman team 38-6 in the Ellwood City Powerpuff Bowl held Friday evening at Helling Stadium.

The Senior/Sophomore team used an impressive rushing attack and forced two turnover to win the annual flag football contest held among Lincoln High School female student body.

Ava Trputec opened up the scoring with a 8-yard touchdown run for the Junior/Freshman team but the 6-0 advantage was short lived.

Ava Lucarellia found Taylynn Crumb on a 25-yard scoring strike to even the score in the second quarter before Cara Kreitzer scampered in from 42 yards out to give the Senior/Sophomore team a 16-6 halftime advantage.

Jadyn Allwine scored from 1-yard out in the third quarter and Teegan Patterson scored on a 15-yard rushing touchdown to stretch the Senior/Sophomore advantage to 30-6 in to the fourth quarter. Kreitzer connected on a 20-yard scoring strike to Lucarelli to round out the scoring.

Lucarelli led all players with 152 all purpose yards, including a game-high 115 yards rushing. Eria Barlow and Teegan Patterson each intercepted passes to lead the Senior/Sophomore defensive efforts.

Deja Hall finished with 19 yards rushing on eight carries to lead the Junior/Freshman team in defeat.
