The Ellwood City Area Historical Society was founded in 1988 and has the mission to collect, protect, preserve, and make available the rich history of the Ellwood City Area. Members and guests meet every second Monday from September through November, and January through May.

They operate a museum of Ellwood Area that displays related artifacts located at 310 5th Street in Ellwood City. The museum is free to the public. The Society also distributes four annual scholarships to deserving local high school seniors. Membership in the Society is $10.00 for an individual and $ 25.00 for a family.

The September 8th dinner will be the start of the Society’s 38th year. October’s meeting at the History Center will feature a discussion of the Monastery of the Transfiguration and November will feature the magic of Ellwood City Dentist Dr. Brad Brown.

The general public is invited to attend all Historical Society events. The September dinner choices (beef medallion sirloin, pecan crusted salmon, or Tuscan stuffed chicken breast) and the $40.00 price per dinner is due at the History Center, by August 25th.
