POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT:
Andrew Freed is charged with theft of a motor vehicle after an incident occurring on June 23rd between the times of 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Freezle Auto Wrecking reported that a pickup truck, estimated value of $1,500.00, was stolen from the property. East Palestine police recovered the vehicle and arrested Freed in connection with the stolen vehicle according to a criminal complaint.

THEFT:
Anthony Johnson, 65, of New Castle is charged with theft of a motor vehicle after an incident occurring on June 6th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 1:48 a.m., police responded to a welfare check on Ellwood City Road and were informed by a female victim that she accepted a ride home from an unknown male in her vehicle. She reported that the man began to “act crazy” so she exited the vehicle and he continued to drive her car away. Police were able to contact Johnson who advised that he did drive the female from an Ellwood City bar, but did not take her car. However, he was able to relay to police where the vehicle was in New Castle according to a criminal complaint.

THEFT:
Theodore Yeagley, 51, of New Castle, is charged with theft after an incident occurring on June 20th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 10:45 a.m., police arrive on scene on Route 18 in New Beaver Borough and spoke to the victim who reported that someone entered his property and stole about 100lbs worth of copper scrap. Officers called around to SA Recycling to inquire if they had anyone sell them copper, to which they agreed and reported Yeagley sold them scrap at $276.00 according to a the complaint.

HARRASSMENT/SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Philip Mooney, 59, of Vermilion, may be charged with harassment after an incident occurring on June 29th at approximately 1:09 a.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Darlington Rd, New Beaver Boro. for a report of disturbance. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Mooney was attempting to leave the location intoxicated, and the family attempted to restrain him. Mooney then attempted to strike his step-son according to a criminal complaint.

SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Billy Jackson, 32, of Ellwood City is charged with Simple Assault after an incident occurring on June 24th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:48 a.m., police were dispatched to Hazel Ave due to an activated automatic panic alarm. Police spoke to the female victim who reported a verbal altercation began after the victim had confronted Jackson on cheating allegations. She advised that during the argument Jackson became physically aggressive resulting in visible bruising when evaluated by the responding officers. Officers located Jackson shortly after and Jackson reported that the victim had became physically aggressive with him, throwing hot water and a remote at Jackson, and that he never touched the victim and the resulting marks were hickeys according to a the complaint.

DUI:,
Dante Grymes, 18, of Wampum is charged with DUI after a crash occurring on June 20th at approximately 6:41 p.m. Grymes was traveling on State Route 288 and crossed over into the Eastbound lane and struck a guide rail. Grymes suffered no injuries, but the vehicle was severely damaged, according to a public information report.

DUI:
Samuel Mielke, 56, of Wampum, is charged with DUI after a crash occurring on May 30th at approximately 2:57p.m. Police contacted Mielke and observed a strong odor emanating from his person, along with several other clear signs of intoxication. Officers arrested Mielke on suspicion of intoxication according to a criminal complaint.

DUI:
Mathew Delaney, 21, of Ellwood City, is charged with DUI after an accident occurring on June 22nd in the area of Woodside Avenue and Argonne Blvd.. Police contacted Delaney after his vehicle hit and dislodged a guardrail and observed clear indications of intoxication and asked him to preform a Standard Field Sobriety Test to which Delaney replies “Man, I’m drunk. I don’t need to do that testing. Just arrest me,” according to a criminal complaint. Delaney was placed under arrest and transported to a nearby hospital for a blood draw.

DUI:
Patrick Mcquaide, 39, of Ellwood City, is charged with DUIafter a traffic stop occurring on May 17th at approximately 12:44 a.m. Police contacted Mcquaide after making a traffic stop on 2nd Street and observed an opened container of alcohol and other clear signs of intoxication. Officers requested that Mcquaide preform a Standard Field Sobriety Test which he failed according to a criminal complaint.

CHILD PORNOGRAPHY:
Michael Aaron Tinker, 33, of New Castle is charged with disseminating photos or film of child sex acts, 50 counts of child pornography and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility after police investigated a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, via Internet Crimes Against Children.

According to a criminal complaint filed June 25th, the tip was that child pornography had been uploaded onto a Google Drive with the suspect’s information. Google provided information, initially, for 30 files that contained suspected child pornography that had been uploaded in March 2023.

The police confiscated 12 cell phones and tablets from Tinker’s apartment later in March 2025 and found over 800 hundred files that contained photographs and images of children involved in various sexual acts or child nudity and children modeling provocative clothing, lingerie, underwear and swimsuits, the complaint relates.

The complaint continues to note that even though there are only 50 counts for the possession of child pornography associated with the complaint, there were additional files in Tinker’s possession and furthermore there are additional items seized from Tinker’s residence that have not been fully analyzed due to finding sufficient evidence at this time. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
