A walk-off single left the Riverside Panthers on the wrong end of a 2-1 extra inning defeat to Bethel Park Thursday afternoon.
The game was tied at one in the bottom of the eleventh when Stanhoff singled, scoring one run.
The pitching performance was outstanding for Riverside as three Panther pitchers struck out 22 batters.
The game was scoreless after seven innings and well into extra frames before Riverside opened the scoring in the eleventh powered by a Hunter Garvin solo home run to right field.
In the bottom of the eleventh inning, Bethel Park responded as Hofbauer singled and Stanhoff singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Zack Hare pitched five innings in relief for Riverside, allowing one hit and zero runs while, striking out 11 and walking none. Hunter Garvin took the loss for the Panthers. The lefty went one and one-third innings, surrendering two runs on three hits, striking out three and walking one. Christian Lucarelli started for Riverside and allowed zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking three.
Dylan Meyer led the Riverside offense with two hits in four at bats while Garvin accounted for the lone run batted in.
Next up for Riverside (9-2 Overall) is a two-game series against Quaker Valley beginning at home on Tuesday.
