Hare Strikes Out 14, Panthers Shut Out Warriors; Wolverines Sweep Sto-Rox

Zach Hare struck out 14 batters Friday afternoon over six shut out innings as Riverside defeated Mohawk 8-0 at Jack Critchfield Park at Slippery Rock University.

Hare limited the Warriors to only two hits and two walks in his stellar pitching performance. Hare also posted two RBIs offensively to lead the Panthers attack.

After two scoreless innings, Riverside struck for six runs in the bottom half of the third inning to chase Warriors starter B Crawford. The Panthers added two more runs in the six inning.

M Santillo swatted a double and collected two hits for Riverside. The Panthers drew nine walks as a team. Hunter Garvin threw an inning of relief, striking out two batters.

The victory for Riverside (6-1 Overall, 2-1 Section 3A-1) secured a season sweep over the Warriors.

Ellwood City Sweeps Sto-Rox

Days after a 23-1 onslaught, the Wolverines collects its season sweep, defeating Sto-Rox 8-2 on Friday.

Jordan Keller smashed a homerun, his third of the two-game series, en route to a two-hit performance offensively. Jacob Biskup also collected two hits and a team high four RBIs for the Wolverines.

Nate Kennedy earned the victory on the rubber. Kennedy struck out six batters and allowed only one hit and one walk. Will Nardone and Biskup tossed relief for Ellwood City.

Ellwood City (7-3 Overall, 2-1 Section 3A-1) next hosts Quaker Valley on Monday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
