ENDANGERMENT OF A CHILD:
Katie Defonde, 39, of Ellwood City, is charged with endangerment of a child after an incident on March 14th. According to a criminal complaint and at approximately 4:22p.m. police were dispatched to Orchard Avenue due to a report of a child found unattended in the street. When police made contact with the caller, he stated that he and his wife had found the approximately one-year-old alone and unsupervised in the street. Navolio also made reference to where he thought the child’s residence was located. When officers arrived at the location and made contact with Defonde, she had just woken up and was appeared confused according to the complaint. Police asked if she had a son, and she gave several indirect answers before confirming she did. Police also noticed narcotic paraphernalia on the seat Defonde was seated at and Defonde was also found to have two active bench warrants. The child’s uncle arrived to take custody of the boy (DOB 10/21/22) while Defonde was transported to ECPD, where she was lodged until the arrival of Butler County Sherriff’s Officers.
SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Lawrence Hughes, 32, of Farrell, is charged with Simple Assault after an incident occurring on March 23rd. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 5:20p.m., police made contact with a victim who advised them of the attack on her at a residence on Hazel Avenue and that her boyfriend, Hughes, had stated that if she were to contact police he would killer and the children. The victim was found with marks on her body to articulate her story, however she is unwilling to testify according to the complaint. Police decided to a PFA against Hughes, and a body warrant for Hughes based on injuries, the physical evidence, and the fear of safety for herself and her children according to a criminal complaint.
SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Tyler Frank, 42, of New Castle is charged with simple assault after an incident occurring on March 25th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 4:10p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on Loop Street and were advised the victim was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Frank, who then left the scene. The victim informed police that Frank began by saying vulgar things in front of their child and later had thrown a boot at her face after the verbal argument knocking the victim unconscious according to the complaint.
DUI:
Ernest Cavallo, 76, of Enon Valley is charged with DUI after a traffic stop on March 13th at approximately 5:43p.m. Police made contact with Cavallo, who was found driving around Enon Valley in wrong lanes and swerving, and observed that he was heavily intoxicated and refusing to cooperate with police when asked to exit the vehicle. Cavallo verbally and physically harassed and threatened officers until they had no choice but to tase him for him to cooperate, according to a criminal complaint.
That mother needs her rights taken away from her. What a sickening individual.
