Riverside Boys Swimming Team Earns Runner-Up Finish At Beaver County Championships

The Riverside Varsity Swimming competed at the Beaver County Swim and Dive Championships last weekend at Beaver Area High School

The Riverside Boys Team earned runner-up for the meet while the Riverside Girls Team finished 5th.

This is a new meet added for the teams this season where six schools from Beaver County met to compete. Beaver, Beaver Falls, Blackhawk, Central Valley, and Hopewell joined Riverside at the championships.  Beaver earned the overall top finish for their boys team.

“We were one of the smaller teams there, competing with only 4 girls and 7 boys, but we had a very successful day,” said head coach Alaina Marshall.

The boys relays swept the win for all three relay events and they won six of the eight individual events. Senior Captain Michael Styn and Freshman Joshua Turner earned four gold medals for their four events between individual and relay events.

Freshman Jordan Visconti also won her individual 100 Girls Breaststroke.

“We are hoping to carry this momentum into the MAC Championship at Moon High School in just two weeks,” added Marshall.
