Harold L. “Bucky” Weingartner, 93, of Wayne Township passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital following complications from a fall.
Born July 12, 1931 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Jesse G. and Meryl F. Hazen Weingartner. He was married to Delores M. Filippone Weingartner for 66 years until her death on June 12, 2017.
Bucky worked at Arthur F. Hazen and Sons until his retirement in 1986. He was a lifelong farmer and the owner/operator of the Breezy Hill Farm. He was a lifelong member of the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church where he served on numerous Boards and committees throughout the years. He was a member of the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery Board, a charter member of the Wayne Township Fire Department, delivered Meals on Wheels for 35 years, and was a former member of the Ellwood City Rotary Club. He loved to spend time with family and friends especially during the holidays and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart. All of them loved to spend time “on the farm” with “Pap” and “Pappy Bucky”.
Survivors include four daughters, Cynthia (Clyde) Sutton of Carlisle, Denise (James) Wade of Mechanicsburg, Kim Weingartner of Ellwood City, and Joyce (Mark) Gebrosky of Cranberry Twp.; eight grandchildren, Patrick Sutton, Jesse (Laurie) Sutton, Emily Wade, Trevor (Allison) Wade, Troy (Faith) Senchak, Matthew (Alison) Gebrosky, Megan (Ryan) Burg, and Jacob (Jenna) Gebrosky; eleven great-grandchildren, Fiona, Elizabeth, Dylan, Audrey, Gavin, Alex, Emma, Scarlett, Madison, Macy, and Maxxon; and two sisters, Norma Yoho of Ellwood Rd. and Arlene Shields of Punxsutawney.
In addition to his parents and wife Delores, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Fred, and Clair, and three sisters, Lois Jean Harlan, Lilabelle Weisz, and Florence Nasti.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church on Thursday January 9, 2025 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Carolyn Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
