Ellwood City Public Library Sponsoring A Victorian Tea Event

The Ellwood City Public Library is sponsoring a Victorian Tea on Saturday, June 22nd at Calvin Presbyterian Church The event is scheduled to take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon. Items on the menu include assorted tea sandwiches, breads, savories, fruits, sweets and various teas. Hats are optional, but prizes will be awarded for the prettiest and the craziest hat. Ellwood City Sports Physicals To Be Held On June 13th

According to information made available by the district, Ellwood City Sports Physicals for the 2024-25 school year will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the High School Nurse’s office. Any student in grades 7-12 that are interested must pre-register in the Principal’s office by Wednesday. Forms must be completed and payment must be made before an appointment time is given. Cost of the Physical is $20.00.  This is the only date that physicals will be offered by the school. Route 65 Culvert Replacement Begins Monday in North Sewickley

PennDOT has announced culvert replacement work requiring a long-term closure of a portion of Route 65 (Mercer Road) in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County will begin Monday, June 10 weather permitting. Culvert replacement work will begin at 8:00 a.m. Monday on Route 65 between Bologne Valley Road and Oakland Drive. James M. Love, 71, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at his residence. James was born on January 6th, 1953 in New Brighton to James H. and Margaret (Popa) Love. He graduated from Rochester High School with the class of 1970 and from Geneva College in 1975 with a Bachelor’s  Degree in Arts. James worked for Arm Co. DRIVING WITHOUT LICENSE: Trent Sirak, 21, of Ellwood City is charged with Driving without a license after an incident on May 21st. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers were patrolling and had noticed a green quad traveling at high speeds.
