Diane S. Gallo, 67, of New Beaver Boro passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born March 24, 1957 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Glen Ray and Annie McConahy Boyer. She was married to Nick Gallo. A graduate of Mohawk in 1975, Diane had retired from the PA Turnpike where she worked as a toll collector. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, and gambling. Divine Grace Parish-Holy Redeemer Church to Hold Welcome Home Masses to Celebrate Completion of Renovation Project

Soon, the congregation of Divine Grace Parish-Holy Redeemer Church, 415 Fourth St., will return to their home—a home with some major changes and upgrades. 5th Beautification Award Winner Announced

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented the 5th winner of the “Beautification Awards” to Kevin and Delana Shaffer. “Excellent work and lots of dedication went into this property at 904 Plymouth Lane,” said Mayor Court in an emailed statement. Mayor Court presented the Shaffer’s with a dinner certificate and a yard sign. Brown, Bernstine Announce Counties Receiving Funds From Natural Gas Drilling Impact Fees

HARRISBURG – Rep. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence) and Rep. Helen Suzanne “Pudy” Pander, 84, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Northview Estates. Born July 6, 1939 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late John and Jeane (Helling) Krestel Sr. She was married to the late William K. “Biff” Pander Jr. for 64 years as they were married August 29, 1959. Mrs. Mary E. DiFrischia, 83, of Chippewa Township, passed away on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Mary was born on March 17th, 1941, to the late Roy and Margaret (Flynn) Armann. On May 16th, 1957, she married her husband, Joseph M. DiFrischia. Mary graduated from Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and shortly thereafter, opened her own hair salon in Chippewa Township, “Tangles and Tans Beauty Shop”. This is 30th Anniversary of the History Center. The Steifel Building was bought in 1994… and became the home of the Ellwood City Area Historical Society. June is Membership Month for the Historical Society. The Society is offering a 18 month membership for the cost of a 12 month membership. Ellwood City Borough Council Announces 2024 Road Paving Project

Ellwood City Borough Manager Kevin Swogger said that residents can expect to see a lot of road construction this summer as part of the 2024 Road Paving Project during the June 17 Ellwood City Borough Council Meeting.
