David Kineston, 70

David Kineston, 70, of Shenango Township, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. David was born in Carlton, Mercer County on January 16, 1954.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former, Rosemarie Jones on November 3, 2020.  They were married on July 26, 1975.  David  was a self-employed auctioneer.  He was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church.  David enjoyed his vacations but mostly enjoyed the time he had to spend with his grandchildren. Lynn Marie Johnson-Carothers, 57

Lynn Marie Johnson-Carothers, 57, of Ellwood City, passed away on June 8th 2024 at her residence. Lynn was born on April 6th, 1967 in Brockton, Massachusetts to the late Carl O. “Mo” and Margaret E. “Peg” (Dearth) Johnson. She graduated from Brockton Highschool and later relocated to Ellwood City, PA. Lynn loved spending time with her family, especially when it came to taking them on their annual beach trip to various beaches. She was a proud grandma to her only grandchild Matthew Carothers. 7th Beautification Award Winner of 2024 Announced

Mayor Anthony J. Court announced the 7th winner of his “Beautification Awards”. Congratulations goes to Kathy Bloom of 727 Plymouth Lane. Richard Strohecker, 78

Richard Strohecker, 78, of Ellwood City, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at UPMC Jameson. Born in Ellwood City on October 3, 1945, Richard was the son of the late Clark and Irvina Wright Strohecker. Richard owned and operated Strohecker Sealcoating and Paving. He previously worked at B&W Steel and also drove truck. Richard is survived by his wife, the former Marylu Harper, who he married on July 1, 1995. Dennis C. Lynch, 67, of North Sewickley Township passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024 surrounded by family. Born February 1, 1957 in Phillips, WI, he was the son of the late Kenneth Lynch and Marlene (Rhyner) Lynch Braun. Dennis had a passion for cars; he was a self-employed auto body repairman for most of his life. He enjoyed going to car shows and tinkering with his classic car. Mr. Nathan R. Prestopine, 93, of Ellport, passed away on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at his residence. Nathan was born on May 4th, 1931 to the late Michael J. and Gilda E. (Docchio) Prestopine. He graduated from Lincoln High School, and was a United States Army Veteran during the Korean War Era. Nathan worked at U.S. Steel, both in Ellwood City and Ambridge, until it’s closing. The annual Ellwood City festival took place this past weekend, bringing thousands to the grounds of Ewing Park for food, crafts and entertainment. The weekend included its annual 10k race and culminated with a fireworks spectacular Sunday evening. Bristol Borselli was crowned 2024 Little Miss Firecracker on Friday. PHOTOS: Little Miss Firecracker Pageant Kicks Off 2024 Festival

The Ellwood City Festival kicked off Friday with its 7th Annual Little Miss Firecracker pageant. The 2024 Little Miss Firecracker crown was awarded to 6-year-old Bristol Borselli. Bristol is the daughter of Drew and Keisha Borselli. Bristol dazzled the judges with her patriotic outfit that included a red, white and blue lace dress and sparkling red cowgirl boots. She won them over with her sparkling personality to match!
