William J. Myers, 69, of Ellport passed away at his residence, surrounded by his wife and family, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born in Beaver Falls on March 19, 1955, William was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy Zduniak Myers.  He is survived by his wife, the former Deanna Dallies whom he married on March 17, 2011.  William had worked as a bartender for over 30 years, mostly at the West End Café and had also worked at Calgon and Jets.  In his younger days, William enjoyed playing pool.  He also enjoyed following all sports. Council Approves Change Order for Wampum Avenue Pump Station Project; Recognizes Councilman Jim Barry for Years of Service

Ellwood City Borough Council voted to approve a $35,820 change order for the Wampum Avenue Pump Station Project during the July 15 meeting. The change stems from unforeseen field conditions. Tyler Watts, project manager, from Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., the engineer firm overseeing the project, said the cost could not be detected prior to a field inspection which is required for any contractor. “There are five laterals that need to be tied into the system,” she said. Urie C. Yoder, 75, of Little Beaver Township passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at his residence following a farm accident. Born July 4, 1949 in Enon Valley, he was the son of the late Christie S. and Mary Hostetler Yoder. He was married to Bonnie Thomas Yoder. Urie retired from Kuhn’s Brothers Lumber, Lewisburg PA, where he worked as a laborer and forklift operator. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and working on his farm, and local dirt-track racing. Ellwood City wrestler Gabe Lilly is among three area athletes competing out of Ellwood City High School’s Wrecking Crew Wrestling Club competing in the US Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals in Fargo, N.D. this month. Betty Leddon, 62, of Squaw Run Rd. Wayne Township passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 13, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born April 6, 1962 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Anna Mae Stanford Oliver. Betty worked in the dietary department at UPMC Cranberry Place. Joseph “Butch” P. Sheeler, 82 of Ellport passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at the Butler VA Medical Center.
