BC3 To Replace Tech Devices With $300K Grant

Butler County Community College has received a $300,000 grant from the state Department of Education that will fund the replacement of approximately 300 electronic devices that allow for network connectivity among BC3’s main campus and its additional locations in Armstrong, Butler, Jefferson, Lawrence and Mercer counties. The 95 switches and routers and nearly 200 wireless access points are nearing the end of their lifespan and will no longer be supported by the manufacturers, according to James Hrabosky, BC3’s vice president for administration and finance. Guy Prestia, 102, of Ellwood City, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. He was a man of action whose service to his family, community, country, and faith radiated throughout his life. Born April 26, 1922 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Madeline (Violante) and Joseph Prestia. He married the late Patricia Prestia, his wife of 54 years, on June 29, 1957. Mrs. Patricia (Main) Rukovena, 77, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, August 25th, 2024 at Quality Life Services in New Castle. Mrs. Rukovena was born the daughter of the late Chester K. and Teressa (DeBlasio) Main in Ellwood City on October 29th, 1946. She had graduated from Riverside High School with the class of 1966. 14th Annual Ellwood City Octoberfest Scheduled For October 5th

Ellwood City may not be Bavaria but it does have its version of Octoberfest. CCBC and Penn State Beaver Sign New Agreement

The Ellwood City Wolverines football team picked up a season opening victory on the road Friday night, edging Laurel 14-7 in overtime. Ellwood City may have earned a narrow victory, but Elijah Palmer-McCane made a huge mark in the record books.
