Daniel K. “Danny” Keenan, 71, of Monaca passed away on December 1, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late Daniel and Anna (Munkavich) Keenan and was born August 2, 1953, in Bethesda, MD.
Danny is survived by his sisters; Sheila Keenan of Aiken, SC and Trisha Wilkie and her husband Din of Yelm, WA.
He was a 1971 graduate of Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, MD and he received his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Maryland. Danny was an Oldies DJ in Bethany Beach, DE and Venice, FL at radio stations, and a TV Weatherman in Salisbury, MD. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Boston Celtics. He also coached kids’ championship basketball in Maryland. He was a lifeguard and loved the beach and loved listening to Oldies Music, especially The Beach Boys and he loved the mountains and the snow. Later in life, he was able to fulfill his dream to live in the Pittsburgh area Danny was a very kind and caring person and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a loving son, brother, best friend of “The Boys” and friend to all who knew him and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his very loving dog Heidi.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring at Bethany Beach in Delaware.
