Robert “Bob” Kimpel, 87

Robert “Bob” Kimpel, 87, of Meadowland Ave. Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at The Grove at Harmony following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born September 29, 1937 in Ellwood City on Meadowland Ave., he was the son of the late John and Rebecca Isenberg Kimpel.

A skilled watchmaker and jeweler, Bob owned and operated Kimpel Jewelers in Ellwood City for 47 years. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church Ellwood City, where he served as a leader of various activities through the years. He was a former president and served on the board of the Ellwood City Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 599 Ellwood City. Bob enjoyed tinkering on classic cars and running. His most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years Margaret “Peg” Olinger Kimpel; four daughters, Lisa (Gary) Fox of Ellwood City, Beckie (Tim) Zimmerman of Ft. Myers, FL, Mary (Doug) Glenn of New Castle, and Jean Kimpel of Richland Hills, TX; seven grandchildren; Alex (Hayley) Fox, Maggie (Casey) Klint, Ellen (David) Porter, Clint Glenn, Meredith (Karl) Egeland, Evelyn (Michael) Thompson, and Joe Tweddell; five great-grandchildren; Evan Tweddell, Jackson and Nora Porter, Joan Thompson, and Harvey Klint.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Ann Tweddell, great-grandson, Otto Robert Fox, and two brothers Jack and Bill Kimpel.

Friends will be received on Saturday November 23, 2024 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Jay Sterling of the First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
