Richard L Brewer, 78, of Franklin Twp. passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital.
Born May 1, 1946 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Ralph and Frieda Hangst Brewer. He married Janice McMichael Brewer on August 1, 1980.
A proud veteran, Richard served in the Army during Vietnam. He attended RMU where he earned his degree in accounting. He worked as an accountant for the Hampton Inn and was also a personal caregiver. An active member of the Ellwood City Lions Club, he was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, and 32nd Masonic Lodge 599. He was an avid reader, loved history, and enjoyed working in his garden. His most cherished moments were spent with his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Janice; daughter, Jodi (Jody) Lewis of Ellwood City; son, John (Pam) Bentel of Ellwood City; daughter-in-law, Christine Bentel of Ellwood City; sister, Kim (Tony) Jarsulic of Elizabeth; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob (Charlotte) Householder of Wampum and Carol McMichael of Mars; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richie Bentel; sister, Debbie Kimelman; brother-in-law, Bob McMichael, and his niece.
Friends will be received on Monday November 11, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home, on Tuesday November 12, 2024 at 11:00 am with Rev. Tod Custer officiating. Military Rites will be observed. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
