Stonecrest Business Park Among Projects To Benefit From $9.65M In State Grant Funding

Stonecrest Business Park, L.P. is among eleven projects Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties that will benefit from over $9 Million in state grants.

$500,000 will go toward the construction of a new industrial building at Stonecrest Business Park, aimed at attracting industrial investment and fostering job creation in the region.

Its funding is provided through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), which aims to bolster economic growth and enhance community resources.  RACP is a Commonwealth grant initiative overseen by the Office of the Budget, designed to support projects that contribute to regional economic, cultural, civic and recreational development.

“I am excited to see these funds come to our district, as they will significantly enhance local facilities and promote job growth,” said 8th Legislative District representative, Aaron Bernstine. “Investing in our community infrastructure is crucial for attracting new opportunities and ensuring a vibrant future for our residents.”

The funding will support two key initiatives in the immediate Ellwood City area:

  • Stonecrest Business Park, L.P.: $500,000 will go toward the construction of a new industrial building at Stonecrest Business Park, aimed at attracting industrial investment and fostering job creation in the region.
  • Sarah Heinz House: $500,000 will be directed toward the upgrade, replacement, and revitalization of the Sarah Heinz House Camp, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for youth activities.

“I am proud to announce this significant investment in our community,” added 9th Legislative District representative, Marla Brown. “The renovation of the Union Station Crossing Wright Building will not only preserve an important historic site but also revitalize it for future use. This project will provide improved accessibility, safety and functionality for all who use the space, ultimately benefiting our entire community.”

The following is a full list of projects being funded with grants from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which is administered by the Office of the Budget for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects:

Beaver County:

  • Aliquippa School District received $1 million for the revitalization of the Aliquippa High School Aschman Stadium complex, specifically the completion of its Educational/Training Center, a state-of-the-art fieldhouse and academic resource center which will consist of a assembly/education space and an indoor athletic/activity space.
  • Ambridge Borough received $1.25 million for Phase 2 of the Ambridge Senior Center Project.
  • Community College of Beaver County received $750,000 for the CCBC Aviation Science Center – Beaver County Airport Project, which will transform the facility into a one-of-a-kind shared hub for aviation students and professionals, as well as $450,000 for the CCBC Golden Dome Critical Infrastructure Improvement Project.
  • Heritage Valley Health System, Inc. received $750,000 for the HVHS Beaver Surgical Stepdown Conversion Project which is focused on the construction and renovation of existing patient rooms at HVHS Beaver Hospital.
    International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #712 received $500,000 for the IBEW Educational Development Center Project which includes construction of a new building consisting of offices spaces, union hall/training/conference center, and associated spaces.
  • Borough of Monaca received $1.5 million for Phase 3 of the Monaca New Civic Center Project.

Butler County:

  • Pittsburgh Community Rink Operating LP received $1.45 million for the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex Expansion Project.
  • Steamfiters Local 449 received $1 million for the Steamfitters Technology for Community Use Renovations.

Lawrence County:

  • Sarah Heinz House received $500,000 to use for improvements to the Sarah Heinz House Camp.
  • Stonecrest Business Park, L.P. received $500,000 for Phase 2 of the Stonecrest Multi-Tenant Facility Project.
