POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

PUBLIC INTOXICATION:
Blake Zeigler, 21, of Ellwood City is charged with public intoxication after an incident on September 25th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:46p.m., police were dispatched to 7-11 and advised that a male was loitering outside asking customers to purchase him tobacco in exchange for cocaine. Officers were aware of this incident. Police then located Zeigler, who was riding a bike, and advised him of the complaint to which Zeigler denied. Police then noticed a smell of alcohol emitting from Zeigler and asked him step off the bike. Zeigler refused and reached for his pocket. Police placed Zeigler into custody. Zeigler was transported to ECPD and searched. Police found several narcotics on Zeigler according to the complaint.

ASSAULT:
Kyle Fair, 22, of Ellwood City is charged with Assault after an incident on October 22nd. Police received a call reporting that Fair had pulled a gun on the caller and fled the scene. When police visited the victim, he stated that he had made contact with Fair because he drives too fast. The victim stated that he saw Fair speeding, so he stepped out into the road to get Fair to slow down, at which point Fair pulled a small handgun on him and stated, “Shut the f*** up if you know what’s good for you,” according to the criminal complaint. Police then located Fair and observed him sitting on the front porch with his mother and two sisters. They asked Fair and his mother what had happened tonight and where the gun was. Fair advised that it was inside and directed officers to where he had hid it. Fair also advised that he did not have a carry license. Fair was then transported to ECPD.

USE/POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS:
Richard Lumley, 65, of Ellwood City is charged with Possession of narcotics after an incident on July 6th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 9:29p.m., police were dispatched to Hall Industries for suspicious activity and had located the man on scene. Police asked Lumley what he was doing, to which Lumley replied that he was just heading home. Police advised Lumley of the complaint and Lumley replied that he “doesn’t do that.” He also told police that he met up with a friend who gave him a laptop and a cellphone. Officers asked what the friend got in return and Lumley refused to respond according to the complaint. Police asked Lumley if they could search him and Lumley agreed. Officers seized a butane lighter, a glasses case containing a glass pipe, four clear plastic containers containing meth, and a digital scale, according to the complaint.

DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE/DUI:
Michael Myers, 53, of Wampum is charged with driving without a license and DUI after an incident on October 10th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 8:47 a.m., road officers were patrolling and was being controlled by flaggers due to construction. A vehicle heading south passed a flagger holding up a stop signal and ran into an orange traffic clone. Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the operator to be Myers. Police contacted Myers and immediately noticed a strong smell of alcohol. Myers advised he had not had anything to drink. police could not conduct a Field Sobriety test because of the construction. Myers was transported him to PSP New Castle for further evaluation and processing. He did take a breathalyzer and indicted a high rate of alcohol, according to a criminal complaint.

DUI:
Chad Wimer, 33, of Portersville is charged with theft after an incident occurring on September 24th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 1:15p.m., police were dispatched to Sheetz in Slippery Rock Township and were advised that a man grabbed three bottles of Fireball and a bottle of Wine and left the store. Police also viewed CCTV footage and located the vehicle Wimer drove. Multiple attempts were made to contact the registered owner of the vehicle with no results. Attempts were made to contact Wimer with negative results according to the complaint.
