Rose Marie (DiMasi) Fox died peacefully August 30, 2024 at age 86, in Salt Lake City, UT.
Rose was born in Ellwood City, PA, to Patsy and Jenny DiMasi on 4/26/1938. She attended Lincoln High School and in 1962, married Edward Fox, a “bad boy” who made her laugh. They had two children, Gregory and Christie, and moved the family to Florida in the late 1970s.
In Florida, Rose worked at Operation PAR for more than 20 years and the PAR family quickly joined her family. Eventually she opened the Detox unit at PAR and made a difference in countless individuals’ road to recovery. Rose was a good friend and loved people easily. She was the person strangers would tell their life stories to because she would listen with compassion and empathy.
Rose was proud of her Italian heritage and her Italian cooking was in demand from her friends and family. She was active in the Catholic Church, including leading RCIA for many years. Rose and Ed returned to Ellwood City for a while to be closer to family, but they loved the sunshine so they returned to Florida and moved into On Top of the World in 2015, where they enjoyed sitting outside with the neighbors, eating at local restaurants, and vanilla ice cream. Rose never stopped loving Paul Newman or music from the 1950s. Her knowledge of song lyrics from the 1950s and 60s was one of her superpowers. She had a strong fashion sense and enjoyed beautiful shoes.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward and is survived by her children Christie (Shane) and Gregory; sister Patty; two grand-children, one great-grandchild; plus many loving nieces and nephews.
Rose will be interred in Locust Grove Cemetery with her husband at a later date. Tributes may be made to Operation PAR (FLA).
