With just four licensed sober living (or three-quarter houses) located in Butler County, and none earmarked exclusively for women and their children, the Gaiser Center partnered with Butler County to address an unmet community need. Ellen’s House provides a safe and supportive environment for women in recovery to continue their journey of sobriety with more autonomy, allowing mothers to have their children visit and stay with them as they prepare to return to fully independent living.
The Gaiser Center enjoys a reputation as western Pennsylvania’s longest-running and most experienced treatment program for alcohol and substance use disorders. Named to honor the legacy of longstanding executive director Ellen O’Brien Gaiser, Gaiser is a comprehensive regional resource focused on long-term treatment options for both men and women. Recognized as a Pennsylvania Center of Excellence for opioid use disorder treatment, Gaiser provides top-notch support for clients and their families with experienced and compassionate staff, modern facilities and proven therapeutic innovations.
