POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT:
According to a police report, a 58-year-old male from Ellwood City reported a theft of a gun from his residence on Dutch Ridge Road, Wayne Township. Upon police arrival, it was discovered that a Ruger 22 cal. was taken from the clove box of an unlocked Chevy Silverado. The gun is valued at $476.97. The theft was reported to have taken place between April 1st and June 19th of 2024 and the investigation is ongoing.

THEFT:
According to a police report, a 38-year-old female from Ellwood City reported theft by deception. The incident was reported to have taken place between June 16th at 7:48 p.m. and June 19, 2024. According to the report, and upon speaking with the involved party it was discovered that an unknown individual used the victims debit card to make multiple purchases. The investigation is ongoing.

ASSAULT:
George Feezle III, 49, of Enon Valley, is charged with Simple Assault and Harrassment after an incident on June 12th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 8:55 a.m., police were dispatched to a report of an active
domestic dispute at a residence on State Line Road, Little Beaver Township and contacted the complainant who related to police he attempted to kick his son out of the house. As police spoke with the complainant, they observed a laceration
to his forehead and abrasion to his left cheek, both still bleeding, and that he was struck with a broom handle by his son, Feezle III. Police later spoke with Feezle III who made a voluntary statement confirming the statements of his father.
Feezle III was placed under arrest for Simple Assault and Harassment.

DUI:
Martin Gaguzis, 52, of Beaver Falls, is charged with DUI after an incident on June 9th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 2:21 a.m., police observed a few vehicles parked at Fifth Street near Spring Avenue and focused on one individual who was stumbling to get back on to his motorcycle. Police made contact with the operator who refused to identify himself and fell over onto the sidewalk. Police then observed a firearm tucked into the front of his waistband, not secured and police secured the firearm and used its registration to identify Gaguzis who was continuing to find trouble standing. Gaguzis was transported to ECPD where he refused to speak and take any testing.

DUI:
Nathan Newell, 48, of Ellwood City, is charged with DUI, Careless Driving and Fleeing From Police after an incident on May 4th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:36 a.m., police located a vehicle parked in the Hazel Manor Bar parking lot known to police to be operated by Newell and that Newell has current warrants for his arrest. Police waited nearby for the vehicle to leave and initiated the emergency lights and continued pursuit, following Newell as he failed to make numerous stops and other traffic violations, leading police into Chewton until the vehicle hit a dead-end portion of a roadway. The vehicle drove through a yard and down a steep hill into a tree disabling the vehicle. The male driver, later identified as Newell, exited the wrecked vehicle and fled on foot into the woods the report relates. Police surrounded the wooded area and later were able to locate Newell exiting the woods covered in mud. Newell was found to have intoxicating beverage emitting from him and was transported to a nearby hospital for a blood draw.
