THEFT:
According to a report, and on October 8th at approximately 4:11 a.m., William Russell, 56, of Mercer, agreed to pick up three prescription medications for a 71-year-old victim, totaling $1,471.95. Russell picked up the medications at Rite Aid in Ellwood City but never delivered them to the victim. Russell was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered. Russell was unable to be located and remains wanted on these charges and several other active warrants. He is known to frequent the City of New Castle. If anyone has information on the current whereabouts of Russell, please call PA State Police 724-598-2211 and reference incident number PA23-1319695
ENDANGERING WELFARE:
Tedra Guffey, 40, of Ellwood City, is charged with Endangering Welfare of Child and Simple Assault after a referred incident report on February 18th by Lawrence County CYS. According to the criminal complaint, the source of the claim stated that Guffey has repeatedly hit her child including in the face and kicking the child in the leg and that the mother made the child get cutting boards from the kitchen so that the mother could hit the child with the cutting board. The mother told the child that if the child told anyone, the child would be in trouble and have big consequences the report relates. The victim, an 8-year-old female, resides primarily with Guffey. Numerous attempts to contact Guffey to interview her regarding the incident have failed and police are seeking a warrant for the arrest of Guffey.
DUI:
Timothy Myers, 41, of Ellwood City, is charged with DUI, Possession, and Careless Driving after an incident on January 29th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 1:33 a.m., police observed a vehicle cross over the center line on US Route 422 while speeding and conducted a traffic stop. Myers was found to have bloodshoot eyes and with an odor of alcohol coming from his breath. When police asked him to exit the vehicle, police observed an open beer can in between the driver’s door and seat. Upon consent to search, police obtained a clear plastic bag containing suspected meth, medicine bottle containing Mathadon, a digital scale, and glass smoking device. Myers was placed under arrest
for DUI and transported to a nearby hospital for a blood draw.
DUI:
Robert Stiteler, 49, of New Galilee, is charged with DUI, Possession, and Careless Driving after an incident on January 1st. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 11:23 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on 1st Street in Ellwood City for a vehicle with a license plate peeling to the point of being illegible. Upon initial approach, police observed movements to be confused and erratic and asked Stiteler to exit the vehicle where he admitted to smoking marijuana and taking Subutex medication. Upon search consent, police found THC vape vile and blue vape pen. Stiteler was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to a nearby hospital for a blood draw.
DUI:
Timothy Romigh, 64, of Portersville, is charged with DUI and Careless Driving after an incident on January 24th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately, 9:30 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Wurtemburg Road where Romigh failed to negotiate a turn, left the roadway striking a guiderail and telephone pole. A known witness related the operator appear intoxicated and the occupants attempted to enter her car. Upon police arrival, police spoke with Romigh and his two passengers. Romigh related he crashed due to the fog and slippery weather conditions, but police observed Romigh to have slurred speech and unable to maintain his balance leading police to administer a field sobriety test for which Romigh failed. Romigh was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to a nearby hospital for blood draw.
WOW such a sad and so sickening story with child abuse.
