Leonard Anthony “Dominic” Gratteri, 80, of North Sewickley Twp. passed away Friday, January 12, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, PA.
Born August 16, 1943, in Reggio Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Samuel and Rosa Politano Gratteri. He was married to Barbara Straley Gratteri for 60 years, she survives.
Dominic attended Beaver Falls High School. He was the owner and operator of Dominic’s Restaurant in Beaver Falls for 25 years, from 1985 to 2010. Dominic loved horse racing and watching the line in Vegas, “occasionally” placing bets. He enjoyed working in his back yard, gardening and was an avid golfer. His most cherished time was spent with family.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Lt. Col. Leonard “Lenny” (Suzanne) Gratteri of Middletown, Delaware, Michael “Mike” (Kim) Gratteri of Ford City, PA; two daughters, Sonya (C.J.) Mavero of Beaver, and Falyn (Matt Gerello) Gratteri of Ellwood City; 9 grandchildren, Madison, Savannah, Dominic, Niko, Samantha, Michael, Gino, Gianna, and Eden.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vince and Joe Gratteri.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday January 16, from 3:00 pm until the time of Blessing Service at 6:00 pm with Father Christopher Mannerino officiating, at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Dominic’s name to Good Samaritan Hospice, 1000 Dutch Ridge Rd. Beaver Falls, 15009.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice for the compassionate care in his final days.
