Richard Strohecker, 78

Richard Strohecker, 78, of Ellwood City, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at UPMC Jameson. Born in Ellwood City on October 3, 1945, Richard was the son of the late Clark and Irvina Wright Strohecker. Richard owned and operated Strohecker Sealcoating and Paving. He previously worked at B&W Steel and also drove truck. Richard is survived by his wife, the former Marylu Harper, who he married on July 1, 1995. He passed away one day shy of their 29th anniversary. He is also survived by his children, Laura “Laurie” (Joe) Laurain of New Wilmington and Richard “Rick” Strohecker, Jr….


Dennis C. Lynch, 67

Dennis C. Lynch, 67, of North Sewickley Township passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024 surrounded by family. Born February 1, 1957 in Phillips, WI, he was the son of the late Kenneth Lynch and Marlene (Rhyner) Lynch Braun. Dennis had a passion for cars; he was a self-employed auto body repairman for most of his life. He enjoyed going to car shows and tinkering with his classic car. Mr. Nathan R. Prestopine, 93, of Ellport, passed away on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at his residence. Nathan was born on May 4th, 1931 to the late Michael J. and Gilda E. (Docchio) Prestopine. He graduated from Lincoln High School, and was a United States Army Veteran during the Korean War Era. Nathan worked at U.S. Steel, both in Ellwood City and Ambridge, until it’s closing. The annual Ellwood City festival took place this past weekend, bringing thousands to the grounds of Ewing Park for food, crafts and entertainment. The weekend included its annual 10k race and culminated with a fireworks spectacular Sunday evening. Bristol Borselli was crowned 2024 Little Miss Firecracker on Friday. The Ellwood City Festival kicked off Friday with its 7th Annual Little Miss Firecracker pageant. The 2024 Little Miss Firecracker crown was awarded to 6-year-old Bristol Borselli. Bristol is the daughter of Drew and Keisha Borselli. Bristol dazzled the judges with her patriotic outfit that included a red, white and blue lace dress and sparkling red cowgirl boots. She won them over with her sparkling personality to match! John A. Pounds, 60, of Ellwood City passed away on June 27th, 2024 at his residence. John was born on June 27th, 1964 in New Castle, to Ralph L. and Edith (Duncan) Pounds Sr. He graduated from Lincoln High School and was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Slippery Rock.  Before becoming disabled, John worked for his parents’ business, “Park Gate Cleaning Service”.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and listening to classic rock. Mrs. Ursula M. Lallement, 75, of New Castle, passed away on June 25TH, 2024 at the UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township. Ursula was born on February 26th, 1949 in Cheshire, Connecticut. She was a clerk at the former Ames in the Franklin Township Plaza for many years. She is survived by her son, Henry Marshall and his fiance Kassi Streckeisen of Wayne Township, grandsons, Alex and Donavian Marshall, her husband, John Lallemement and step-daughter, Stephanie. Vogel’s Telemedicine Bill Set to Become Law
