David Muntean, 87, of Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver. He was the son of the late Nick, Sr and Elizabeth (Toda) Muntean and was born December 19, 1937, in Ellwood City.
David is survived by his wife, of 67 years, Norma Bookamer, his son; Todd Muntean of Ellwood City, his grandchildren; Rodney Wise of Ellwood City, Byron Wise and his wife Leti of Gulf Breeze, Fl, Brooke Muntean of New York City, Daniella Bazlar and Gabby Muntean both of North Carolina, his great-grandchildren; Lilly and Lilah Wise of Gulf Breeze, FL and Addison Wise of Ellwood City, one sister; Martha “Dolly” Fotia and her husband Joe of Ellwood City and one close friend of the family; Stephanie Muntean along with many friends.
He was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School. He met the love of his life, Norma, in 1952 and they were married October 27, 1956. He was retired from B&W after 34 years of service. He enjoyed having coffee each morning with his friends. David also loved and had a passion for fishing especially Trout, Walleye and Crappie. He was a longtime member of the Zelienople Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son and daughter; David Muntean and Lynn Hogue and his son-in-law; Jack Hogue. his siblings; Ann Blazak, Lucratia Flugher, Elizabeth Balmer, Eleanor Muntean, Vera Holder, Nick Muntean, Helen Oliver, John Muntean, Mary Evans Burgeess, and Sam Muntean.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 1:00PM-4:00PM at Turner Funeral Home with a Funeral Service Following at 4:00PM with Reverend Michael Charles, officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES located at 6th and Park in Ellwood City.
