Holy Redeemer Holds Annual Memorial Mass & Tribute

On Sunday November 12th the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church’s Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council 11389 conducted its annual memorial Mass and commemorative tribute to
their recently deceased members at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City.

Following Mass, breakfast, including a memorial program, was held in the Catholic Center honoring their lives.

Both Frank Aloi, President of the Holy Name Society and Hank Glogowski, Grand Knight of the KOC extended a warm welcome to the 60 family members and friends in attendance at the memorial program.

Mr. Aloi’s welcoming remarks centered on our deceased members who enriched their faith, their spirituality and their own lives by being engaged and active in the Church, especially in the Holy Name Society. He said by growing in their faith, they lived lives of action performing acts of charity, piety and corporal works of mercy.

Mr. Glogowski welcoming remarks focused on the KOC motto “in service to one in service to all”. He said that our deceased brothers lived the KOC motto and followed the core principles of the Knights of Columbus; (Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism) which enhanced and made life better in our parish and community.

Master of Ceremonies for the memorial program was John Biondi, a member of both the HNS and KOC. Mr. Biondi presented a remembrance segment by first mentioning each of the eight deceased, pointing out that five were proud military veterans: The eight included: John Maielli Sr. Donald Mudric, Robert Nauman, Bruce Patrick, Ray Venezie, James Gillespie, John Leopardo and Joseph Nardone.

He went on to say that they exemplified and epitomized a lifetime of service to their faith, to their families, to their friends and to their communities.

Mr. Biondi further said that they believed the true meaning of life was to give life meaning. They gave life meaning by their involvement in the HNS, KOC; they gave life meaning with their deep devotion to their faith and never ending work in numerous church ministries.

Invocation was offered by David Manzo, 2nd V.P. of the HNS, Memorial Prayers were led by Frank Aloi, Hank Glogowski and Lou Ferrario.

Presentation of a commemorative memento of the deceased was offered to the family members in attendance by Frank Aloi, Hank Glogowski and John Biondi.

Frank Aloi offered closing remarks and Lou Ferrario ended the memorial service with the Benediction.
