Tom was a life member of the North Sewickley Volunteer Fire Department. He was employed, over the years by B&W Steel, Matthew’s Conveyor, he was a truck driver, and tour bus driver, but most of all he was a farmer at heart. Tom loved his many monthly trips to Amish Country. He knew everyone there. He and Shirley loved visiting different shops, he enjoyed many homemade donuts, fresh fruit, he also enjoyed visiting the local leather shop where he bought his Amish made belts, and he and Shirley always bought their Amish cheese and fresh meats.
Tom was always a jokester finding something funny in everything, in everyday life. Tom was a simple man and loved life, and he loved being outside, especially if he was on a tractor or his lawnmower. He loved cooking turkeys, and he cooked them “the old fashioned way”, on a spit and carefully based them with Italian salad dressing. They loved traveling and made trips to Disney World in Orlando and in their later years they lived in Lake Wales, FL and owned a home there. Tom always had a sense of humor and could find it anywhere he looked. Tom was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a friend to everyone he came across.
