Festival Entertainment Part Five: Rust Valley Revival to Return to Festival with Rockin’ Lineup

The Ellwood City Festival is a bit of a Rock Reunion for Rust Valley Revival (RVR).

This year’s Festival will mark one year since the band’s first gig.

According to Terry “Terr” Engelman one of the guitarists for RVR, the band is looking forward to their return.

“Everyone is so nice at the Festival. The band always have a great time. It’s just a great atmosphere.”

Terr enjoys the festival so much he actually helps run sound during the event.

And his bandmates also enjoy playing to the crowd. The foursome is made up of four male rockers with varying experience:

Andrew “Kubi” Kubicek – Lead Vocals/Guitar (Conway, PA – originally from Greensburg) (Previous band was “Funky Dojo”)

Terry “Terr” Engelman – Guitar/Vocals (Rochester, PA – born and raised) (Also currently plays for the band “The Low Kings”, Previous bands were “Dashboard Saints” & “Double Edge”)

Richard “Herm” Staving – Bass (Beaver, PA – born and raised) (Also currently plays for the band “Michael Bartlett Trio”, Previous band was “Rule of Two”)

Brian “Chinch” Chinchilla – Drums (Beaver Falls, PA – originally from Ambridge) (Previously played with “James Claytor Band” & “The Low Kings”)

Terr said the guys are like family.

“We all get along so well. We are truly a band of brothers. We are all on a level skill level and support one another.”

Three of the guys are from this area and in other bands.

“Brian was in band called the Low Kings. I met him by filling in with that band. He got a hold of me to put together a band and we looked for a base, guitar player.”

The name Rust Valley Revival was inspired by the fact that all members are from the Valley. The Rust is a tribute to the industrialism of the area. The Revival is a shoutout to Creedence Clearwater Revival.

“We do a lot of old school rock and roll. Two guitarists will play lead together … like dueling guitar players. The drummer is always lively and goofing off. We have one of the best bass players. He’s really quick with his fingers. We are an explosive yet very well polished rock and roll band.”

Rust Valley Revival plays at a lot of places in the Tri-State area. Tri-state area. They’ve played at Mario’s Sports and Grill, the Beaver Falls Turners, the Nineteenth Hole, The Big Knob Fair, and many others.

“We are making our way around to a lot of different areas.”
