Head out to Konsignment Konnections today for its Grand Reopening and get 20% off clothes and shoes, a deal that continues Saturday.
Owner Rochelle Spagnolo said she has been waiting a long time for this day. She recently expanded operations to include the space next door that formerly housed the Ellwood City Ledger. She said Konsignment Konnections has now doubled in size.
“I was busting at the seams and wanted that space,” she said. “I had been waiting patiently to be able to expand.”
Spagnolo said the extra space will allow her to display the fashions in better and more visible ways.
“You are not going to want to miss it! You will be floored when you see all the space! Everything is organized, clean, easy-to-find, and labeled. You’ll know right where to go to find exactly what you’re looking for.”
The expansion will also give her business more prominence.
“I now have a big window to use for display. I think it’s going to elevate my business. People won’t be able but to notice my window displays on that iconic corner at the entrance to Lawrence Avenue.”
She said in addition to expanding, her business will be getting a new outdoor sign and façade improvements.
As far as what’s new inside … Spagnolo said Konsignment Konnections is expanding the current inventory and will now have all baby stuff upstairs where moms can easily shop with strollers. She said the basement will now house all formal wear, athletic wear, and seasonal items–including dresses for homecoming and other dances. And NEW to Konsignment Konnections will be suits and tuxedos—top labels, all brand new, shirts, shoes—in all sizes from boys to men’s. Spagnolo said the men’s formal wear is currently a work in progress.
The additional room will also allow for more accessories and gift items including expanded displays of jewelry and high-end makeup and makeup palettes.
Spagnolo said although she went to college, she always wanted to have her own store.
“I grew up in secondhand stores. It has always been my thing.”
She began to build her dream in 2015 when she opened a small space with strictly kids’ items near Forbush Ice Cream on 65. A month after that she joined forces with the owners of Bitchtastic Bargains and sold her kids items on South Mill Street in New Castle until March of 2016 when she decided to branch out on her own and expand her offerings. She then opened a space on 5th Street in Ellwood City until she moved to where she is now in 2017.
“It was amazing when I moved into a way bigger space. The Lawrence Avenue location was triple the size of the Fifth Street location.”
Spagnolo is thrilled by the success of her business.
“I grew organically. It allowed me to grow slowly and evolve as a business owner.”
She looks forward to welcoming the public to her Grand Reopening. And in true 16117 fashion, nearby business Ellwood Ice partnered with Konsignment Konnections on a celebratory offer. Patrons can either bring their Ellwood Ice spoon into Konsignment Konnections to receive an additional 5% off or they can take their receipt from Konsignment Konnections to Ellwood Ice to get a free topping.
Konsignment Konnections is located at 501 & 503 Lawrence Ave Ellwood City and is open Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 11-7, Friday 11-5 p.m., and Saturday 10-2 p.m.
