Jimmie L. Gross, 73, of New Castle went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 17, 2023 at his residence.
Born February 26, 1950 in Harlan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Murphy and Grace Skidmore Gross. He was married to Diana Pumphrey Gross.
Jimmie drove truck all over the United States for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, music, singing, dancing, doing yard work, going to car shows, and being the life of the party. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially talking to his cousin (brother) Jimmy and his sister Janice.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife Diana; five children, Shane (Heather) and John (Madeline) Gross; Kristen (Derek) Drake all of Florida, Chad (Kelley) Verzella of Wisconsin, Chris (Diane) Verzella of Ohio; 17 Grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Smith and Renee Miller both of Florida and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers in infancy and his sister Sharon.
A private service per Jimmie’s request will be held at the Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church with Pastor John Frazer officiating.
Jimmie’s wife Diana would like to thank Family Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Jimmie and also special heartfelt gratitude to close friend Marcia Sipe and nieces Karen Footman, Jody Brommer, and Harley Barnwell, and nephew Reggie Footman for their love and care of Jimmie.
