Myrtle “Mert” E. Hardy, 84, of Ellwood City, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Friday, April 14, 2023 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Clara (Hogue) Main and was born May 15, 1938, in Ellwood City.
She is survived by her children; Debbie Piper and her husband George of Franklin Twp, Diane Lutz of Ellwood City, Darlene McQuiston of Fombell, Dennis Agnew and his wife Kathy of Ellwood City, Dawna Fox and her husband Joe of Beaver Falls, stepchildren; Terri Emery and her husband Jim of New Castle, Woody Hardy and his wife Debbie Gibbs of Ellwood City, Timmy Hardy of Ellwood City, 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, brother in law; Robert and Ruth Hardy of Zelienople, and one sister-in-law; Jan Hardy of Pittsburgh.
Myrtle was born and raised in Ellwood City. She married the love of her life, John ‘Jack” Hardy in 1974. She loved traveling with her husband, Jack and with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, camping and going out to eat in Dubois, PA, sitting on her porch, while enjoying a cup of tea, with her family and watching the birds. In her quite time she enjoyed doing puzzles and playing with her puppy, Beanie. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her, and those she loved, she loved unconditionally.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Hardy, her son; Dale Agnew, her two brothers; Charles Main and Dewayne Main and one nephew; David Main.
Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at Turner Funeral Home with a Funeral Service to be held Thursday, April 20, at 11am at Turner’s with Pastor Matt Bupp, officiating.
The family would like to thank Allegheny Health Network Hospice and especially nurses; Billie and Josylyn who brought so much comfort and care to Mrs. Hardy and her family.
Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Beaver Falls.
