Eugene Andrew Scala, 88, of North Sewickley Township passed away Tuesday following a chronic illness from which he usually bounced back. He just kept on going, sharing kindness, humor and love. He survived familial polyposis, a tainted blood infection containing hepatitis, multiple kidney infections, kidney stones and living with only one kidney.
Born November 3rd, 1934 he was born in between November 2nd, 1934 and November 4th 1934. The son of the late Andrew and Mary Scala of New Galilee. He was married to Margaret Regina Scala for 51 years whom he loved deeply.
He worked a 140-acre family farm along with his brothers, sisters and brother’s in-law. He went on to work at Wampum Brick Yard and then was first a laborer and then a truck driver for Medusa Cement also in Wampum for 25 years for which he was awarded a gold watch he never wore.

San Fernando Valley CA, and Guam. He assisted the Trzcinski Design Group with custom kitchens and bathrooms and Pittsburgh Multiplexes. He would retrieve the paper on which the designs were built and the rest of the team took it from there.
He loved to be outdoors unless the weather was bad. Enjoyed boating at Moraine State Park, staying at family cabin in Kennerdell, PA, setting off a very loud black powder cannon on the Fourth of July or any time in general. He enjoyed watching football games and muting the announcers immediately. He and his son were frequent patrons of Christy’s Family Restaurant each and every Sunday for breakfast. On birthdays all he wanted was a good calzone or pizza. He loved being in the presence of old friends and family. He also loved animals very much and was happy in their presence.
