David R White, 93, of Ellport passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the Butler Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born February 10, 1929 in Harmony, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Nellie V. White. He was married to Marlene Foushee White for 43 years. She survives.
David retired as the Plant Supervisor of Union Chill Mat Company. He was a member of the Park Gate Baptist Church. A Corporal in the Army, David served in Japan and Korea. He was a member of the Butler VFW Post 249 and the Ellwood City Lions Club. Dave loved all animals. He enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling and cruising. Dave’s most cherished time was spent with family.
In addition to his wife, Marlene, survivors include two daughters, Deborah A. Daft, Patricia (Denny) Marcantonio; two sons, David G. White, Michael (Pamela) White; two step daughters, Karen (Ken) Cooper, Darla (David) Bookamer; brother, Richard White; fourteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian White and Mary Palmer; two brothers, Gerald during WWII and William, and two great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City on Friday October 14 from 3:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 pm. Pastor Zach Fry will officiate. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Slippery Rock Church Cemetery Mausoleum.
