Farmers’ Market to Begin Saturday

Ellwood City Farmers’ Market is set to hold its first event of the year Saturday June 4 from 8 a.m. to Noon.

The event will continue each Saturday after through October 8 at the Beaver Ave Municipal Parking Lot, 500 Block of Beaver Ave. The Ellwood City Farmers’ Market features a variety of locally grown and produced products and is part of the Ellwood City Revitalization (ECR) project.

In addition to vendors, there will be music from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. featuring Pure Harmony Strings.

The vendors at the June 4 market include:

  • 3D’s Produce Farm & Greenhouse (flowers, plants)
  • Karen Walker/Topada Farms (houseplants)
  • Pamela D Creations (handmade pet & household items)
  • Katy’s Homestyle Bakery & More (baked goods, fresh eggs)
  • Paws in the Sand (pet treats & pet items)
  • Fungetarian (mushrooms)
  • Just Craftin’ with Janine & Diana (Wreaths, Home Decor)
  • McCraley Designs (watercolor art, cards, gifts)
  • Unbound Creativity (soap, lotion, sugar scrub, keychains and more)

  • Sutton Farms (grass fed beef, cut flowers and handcrafted items)
  • Lydia Mansur (woodburned cutting boards, wooden spoons, etc.)

The market committee is asking for all vehicles to be removed from the parking lot by 7 a.m. on each Saturday to accommodate setup by the vendors. Police will be notified of any vehicles remaining in the lot after that time.

The committee has offered the following Farmers’ Market tips on their Facebook page:

  1. Visit the local coffee shop, or grab breakfast downtown before or after your visit!
  2. Bring cash. Some of our vendors do have credit card readers; just ask if you are unsure! (Sutton Farms takes EBT/SNAP; Sperdute Farms and 3D’s takes farmers market vouchers.)
  3. Dress accordingly. We are OPEN rain or shine! Bring an umbrella or sunscreen, whichever applies!
  4. Bring reusable bags to carry your goodies! It’s helps out our vendors and our enviroment by not using excess bags!
  5. Allow time to visit each vendor; even if you do not purchase anything that week! It’s a good time to check them out in case you need to buy that perfect gift later in the season! Also, some of our vendors do custom orders!
  6. Bring a chair and stay for the live music each week, starting at 9:30am. (It’s a good time to enjoy that coffee you brought with you, or are going to get!)
  7. Our lot full? Parking on the street does not require money in the meter on the weekends. Stroll through the Community Plaza on your way to/from. Stop to smell the flowers and check out the fountain! Get in those steps!
  8. Ask questions! You can learn a lot from our vendors!
