Goldie Poholsky, 91, formally of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly at UPMC-Jameson Hospital, on April 26, 2022. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Armatas) Mackas and was born November 18, 1930, in Ellwood City.
She is survived by her children; Debra Cassella and her husband Ken of New Castle, Jeffrey S. Poholsky and his wife Linda of Wexford, grandchildren; Kristen Sanata and her husband Jason of Mars, Alyssa Flannery and her husband Bill of New Castle, Nikki Karatinos of Mars, great-grandchildren; Mia, Talia, Kaia, Harper, Piper, Jack, and John, and her God Child; Georgia Demas of Chippewa, Pa.
She was a 1949 graduate of Lincoln High School and was of Orthodox Faith. She was married to Jack Poholsky, who preceded her in death, in 1999. She enjoyed working, she loved to walk and loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was also preceded in death by her sister; Joyce Prokop.
Friends may call on the family on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 11:00-12:00pm at Turner Funeral Home with a Funeral Service following at 12:00pm, with Father Richard Salley, Officiating.
Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations made, in Goldie’s name to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Donations can be mailed to 205 East Reynolds Street New Castle, PA 16101
