Anthony D. “Tony” Capalbo, 85, of Wampum passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at his son’s residence in Ellwood City.
Born April 16, 1936 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Gilio “Jim” and Angeline Christian Capalbo.
Tony was a graduate of Wampum High School in 1954. He retired as a Supervisor from Medusa Cement in Wampum after 44 years of service. He was an active member of the Wampum Lions Club, where he served as secretary for 50 years. Tony was proud of the work that they did for the community of Wampum. He enjoyed golfing, going on cruises, and spending time with his grand and great grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Mike (Rose) Capalbo of Ellwood City and Jim (Stefanie) Capalbo of Mt. Jackson; grandson, Michael (Erin) Capalbo; two granddaughters, Alexandra (E.J.) Coleman and Erynne Capalbo; 3 great grandchildren Mac, Cooper, and Xavier; two sisters, Mary Jane (Phil) Winter and Betty Ann (Ron) Petroff; brother in law, Joe Bellissimo, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Pete, Ed, and Francis Capalbo and a sister Rosemarie Bellissimo.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday April 4, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Redeemer Church on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 10:00 am with Father Mark Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
