Joyce Ann Meek, 65, of Ellwood City, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 21, 2022 at her residence.
Born January 22, 1957 in Paintsville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ruth Burke Meek.
Joyce graduated from Johnson Central High School in 1975. She then attended Prestonsburg Community College, University of Kentucky, and Kentucky Christian University, where she majored in education. She was baptized at Howell’s Mill Christian Camp. She was a current member of the First Christian Church in Ellwood City. Joyce worked as a waitress and at Dairy Queen. She loved people, church, and the Lord. She was a devoted Christian, and prayed for many people. She had a knack for remembering special dates and will be remembered as a very caring, sweet spirited person.
Survivors include sister, Sharon (Tom) O’Brien of Ellwood City; brother, Paul (Joan) Meek of Texas; four nieces; Emily and Chelsea O’ Brien, Kathryn (Mauricio) Almar, and Rachel (Jonny) Salud; two nephews, Joseph P. Meek and Andrew O’Brien; four great nephews, Joshua Johnson, Nicholas, Lucas and Alex Almar; one great niece, Lucy Salud.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the First Christian Church in Ellwood City. Her brother in law Pastor Tom O’Brien will officiate.
