Senior Alexander Roth connected on six 3-pointers en route to his game high 26 points to lead Ellwood City to at 63-40 victory Tuesday Night over rival Riverside.
Roth scored 16 points in a first half that saw the Wolverines race out to a 39-24 halftime lead. In a well rounded effort, Roth added five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Steve Antuono scored 19 points (one 3-pointers, 6-7 FTs, five assists) and Milo Sesti scored 10 points (two 3-pointers, four steals) for Ellwood City. The team connected on 10 3-pointers in the contest.
Bo Fornataro scored a team-high 24 points for Riverside in defeat. Nate Kolesar chipped in with two triples (6 points) and Madden Moehm made a 3-pointers (4 points).
Ellwood City (8-2 overall, 1-0 Section 3A) next will travel for a section matchup at Neshannock on Friday. Riverside will next host Laurel at home on Friday.
