James Frederick Dixon Jr., 83, of North Sewickley Township passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at his residence.
Born May 15, 1938 in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late James Frederick Sr. and Hellen Shoetack Dixon. He was previously married to Arlene Leona Glidden on November 15, 1958 and was currently married to Joy M. Gibson Diorio-Dixon. They were married on June 25, 2005.
Jim worked as a crane operator at the B&W for 30 years and was also the owner and operator of Dixon and Sons Taxidermy for 57 years. He was a current member of the Providence Baptist Church. Jim liked traveling to Rodgers Ohio to the Sale. Some of Jim’s interests included hunting, fishing, playing guitar, and writing music. He especially loved to hold new born babies.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Holler of Ellwood City and Diana Bernd of Ellwood City; son, James Dixon of Beaver Falls; step daughter, Joy O’Rourke of Butler; step son, Randy Diorio of North Carolina; sister, Marcella Ball; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Arlene; two brothers, Charles L. and Robert Dixon and his stepdaughter, Dawn Dittmer.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday December 11, 2021 from 12:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 4:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Dr. Judy Angleberger will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
